A recent interview revealed that the wow gold movie is still in the super early stages of pre-production. They're still going over the story at meetings, still trying to figure out how to adapt the entire wow gold universe to the big screen.
It looks like the wow gold movie is still a long way off. According to Blizzard's vice president of creative development Chris Metzen, "We're still kind of getting it together with  Raimi and his team and jamming on themes that we want to chase." So, in Hollywood lingo, it seems like it's in the early, pre-script stage.As for how closely the film will align with the game's extensive canon, Metzen says."The wow gold games are always going to be the core canon 'franchise' or whatever, but looking at things like Spider-man or X-men or films we've seen over time, especially based on ideas that have been around a long time – since the 60s, or whatever – it's kind of like a new expression. We're still dealing with how 'canon' will ] be. And I don't have a great answer for that yet, but I think the game side will always be the core experience of what wow gold is."The interview, with Blizzard's head gentleman in charge of Creative, does show that Bliizard and the relevant parties aren't content with producing a piece of junk, then expecting us fans to go out and see it. That's probably wise: if the movie is going to be any kind of success it's going to need the support of its fans, if only because wow gold doesn't exactly have Batman-level recognition.
