Archimonde took over Arthas' role and Arthas traveled to Kalimdor. There, his path crossed with Illidan Stormrage.Archimonde was defeated and the Legion was scattered. With the help of crypt lord Anub'Arak, Arthas escaped through the tunnels and reached the Lich King.However, before the Shattering the Frozen Throne could occur, Arthsa was engaged in battle with Illidan Stormrage who has transformed into a demon. However, Illidan was no match for Arthas. He then went up the steps to the throne, and the voice inside his head told him to shatter the ice that encased the Lich King. After he did this, he then put on Ner'zhul's helmet. Finally, Ner'zhul, the Lich King and Arthas were one.Right now, the Lich King awaits you. He awaits either your death or his. If you win, your glory will be unequaled. If you lose, your soul belongs to the Lich King... forever.
