To make a good friend in a MMORPG it's best to find someone who has a similar play style to you. A plan of service that I use is what I've coined as the 2 for 1 rule. I basically give an alchemist 1 resource and I get a return of 2 ingredients (wash or oil or resin etc.) and the alchemist in turn keeps 2 ingredients.
Players often get together in the real world after meeting each other in a game. These events are normally called fan fairs, and really show how close some friends can become from meeting each other in a game.
